My full skin care routine

August 1st, 2018

Back in the day I could eat fast food at 2 am, sleep in my makeup and use my smudged mascara as the next days eyeliner. Let’s hear an ode to the good old days because girlfriend that ship has sailed, hell that ship isn’t even on this side of the globe anymore. Welcome to my thirties or what I more affectionately call, paying attention to the things I used to be able “get away with”. The biggest thing I can no longer get away with, not taking care of my skin.

It’s important to mention that as I have gotten older I also care about ingredients so I not only try to pick products that work but are also made with great ingredients that aren’t crazy toxic. My skin is pretty normal to combination with no real acne (aside from my monthly hormonal stuff) and it’s not really dry at all so I don’t use much of a straight moisturizer on a regular basis since I get enough moisture from the other products I use.

Here's my current skin care routine:

Morning routine

Cleanse with Quench Cleanser and my Clarisonic, any excess makeup residue can be taken off with my Make Off wipes

My anti-aging “cocktail”:

Sotoks + One Drop Wonder

Sunscreen, I like this one because it’s also a makeup primer and has anti-aging properties.

Night routine

Cleanse with Dream Clean Cleanser and my Clarisonic. I like Dream Clean in the evening because I tend to get some hormonal breakouts and this helps a ton!

Eye Arise. Eye Arise is great for bags and dark circles.

My evening anti-aging “cocktail”:

SotoksMidnight Oil

One time a week (Sunday) I do a Mask either Masque of Zen or Skin Polish and then 1-2 nights  I will use the skin polish again because it’s such a great exfoliant!

Lastly I put Midnight Oil on my eyebrows (and my eyelashes) at night in hopes that they will grow back from the 90’s. We have yet to make progress there so stay tuned. They are micro bladed so that helps!

If you are confused on what order you want to do what stick with this rule: after cleansing pick the products you want to do WORK (usually your anti-aging things will go on first) and then pick the products that calm your face (oils, moisturizers, etc.)

Then I call it a night, which is a whole other process.

You can find my beauty sleep tips here.

But I promise all of this stuff DOES NOT take a ton of time. I love to sleep so I have to have a routine that get’s me to sleepy town fast!

The biggest tip I can give you and this is with everything. BE CONSISTENT. Whatever you decide to do, pick a routine and give it a fair chance. You won’t see results by only using products once a week just like you won’t have abs after eating a salad only once a week…well maybe you will, if so, we can’t be friends #justsaying.

I hope this helps you on your journey to having your best face forward!

Love,

CV
